Fixed a bug where the flashlight would try to illuminate a page on the other side of a wall. Added a pause feature, but you can only pause if there's no static (which prevents you from pausing the game in response to seeing the Slender Man). Added a menu option to automatically skip the intro. For the same reason, Distance Shade can no longer be turned off. The maximum distance you can see decreases as you collect more pages this is to keep the challenge similar for people who have fog turned off. This will allow you to jog or sprint for a much longer period of time, but makes repeated taps of the jog/sprint button cause your stamina to drain very quickly (effectively getting rid of a former exploit). When you start jogging/sprinting, however, it immediately deducts 5% of your stamina. Removed the cooldown for stamina recovery after jogging/sprinting, and reduced the stamina drain rate. Your jogging speed now increases gradually as more pages are collected. Added shadows (not especially noticeable except in lit areas). Added different light sources (unlocked after beating the game once). Also now includes links to Slender Man info and YouTube series. Improved main menu and added music to it. Added a subtitle to the game ("The Eight Pages") to differentiate it from future versions. Slender is great for those who love horror. However, while the player will never learn what the eight pages do as they are a tool to keep you moving in this version, the drive to collect them builds real tension. 
Slender remains basic, not trying to invent anything new. Unfortunately, Blair Witch is bug-ridden, unlike the other options. However, it keeps much of the simplicity. The pacing is better, but it has high demands on the computer system and costs money.īlair Witch follows a similar pattern of wandering around the woods, but it takes a completely different turn.
It has a focused story while retaining the simplicity of the basic elements. AlternativesĪrrival is the second creation in the series, but it is the prequel to Slender. Also, once you download the game, you will have to unzip it to install now. New light sources and shadows were added for when you beat the game once to increase playability. The creators played around with the stamina to increase the difficulty of running away while still allowing you the possibility to escape the Slenderman. The new update added a few changes to make the game better, including improving the main menu while also adding music.
